The Rotary motto 'Service above Self ' is honoured through many Avenues of Service by the Rotary Club of Kew where members give back to the community through a variety of programs outlined below.

Community Service

The Rotary Club of Kew undertakes a number of service projects within the local community examples of which are participation in Clean Up Australia and the provision of manpower to help elderly citizens still living at home but unable to maintain their property.  Participation in these activities noty onl;y benefit the community but also provide great fellowship for Club members.

Vocational Service

Rotarians serve others through their professions and are encouraged to practice high ethical standards.  They share these skills in many ways.  One area in which the Rotary Club of Kew serves is through the Police Mentoring program.  Three high achieving members of the Victorian police Force have been mentored so far with the fourth member to join the program this year.

International Service

International Service is focused on humanitarian projects around the world.  The Rotary Club of Kew is currently supporting a number of projects in East Tmor aimed specifically at improving the position of women and children  through the Alola Foundation.  We also support the Sumba Eye Program in Indonesia with funding.  One of our members, an Optician, donates his time and professional expertise directly to this project.

Fundraising

To facilitate the Club's ability to support the many avenues of service in which it is involved, and provide funding to other charitable organisations locally, nationally and internationally, the Club undertakes a number of fundraising efforts.  The major fundraiser run by the Club is Garden DesignFest, an event that has now become well known nationally.  For more information on this event, click the logo at the bottom of the page.  More information of the charitable efforts of the Club may be found under the 'About Us' Tab.
